The Computer Science and Engineering department is one of the pioneering departments at VNEC. The department was established in 2010. The department is progressing dynamically in all academic and research areas. Currently the department offers a 4-year Under Graduate B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 120 students. The objective is to educate, train and develop world class research and IT professionals with a mastery of not only hardware and software skills but also soft skills for professional success.The department has six state of the art laboratories with high end Servers along with a department library.
The well equipped Labs are kept open till 8:30 pm every day to enable the use of lab facilities for research activities. The department invites eminent personalities from renowned industries or research organization for interaction with students and faculty
The department aims to compliment theory with practical approach by providing assistance to the students for completing summer training projects, encouraging regular interaction with the industry through seminars, guest lectures, conferences, corporate meets etc and Organising inter cultural exchange with other institutions and industries. The department conducts various coding contests on renowned platforms for the students on regular basis. This practice increases the competitive spirit amongst the students and has given tremendous results in terms of placements.
Students are performing exceptionally well in various technical, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities at both inter and intra college events. Along with acclaimed academic performance at AKTU level, students are motivated to form & run clubs, societies to further hone their skills, broaden their horizons, and instil leadership qualities & viability.
Our students have multiple job options after the course. Policies of providing In-house mentoring to students prepares them for all the sectors be it in the field of IT, Govt., Banking, defence, PSUs and successful Entrepreneurs. Our students have managed to qualify various competitive examinations like GATE, CAT, GRE etc.
