To support and inspire local entrepreneurs in developing sustainable energy enterprises that deliver need-based solutions to underserved communities.
Veerappa Nisty Engineering College, Shorapur started the “Kalyna Karnataka Incubation Centre” for nurturing and overseeing innovation and entrepreneurship. The aim is to encourage entrepreneurship among locals with the colleges serving as focal points. It is a platform for nurturing, encouraging and developing innovation and entrepreneurial skills among its students, research scholars and alumni, as well as students of the region.
Incubation Cell nurtures technology ventures through their start-up phase by providing all the support necessary to help entrepreneurs establish themselves before they scale up their ventures. K2IC seeks to support entrepreneurs translating innovations into products and services that are commercially viable. Admission to VNEC K2IC is open to:
Incubatees may be offered shared office space at VNEC K2IC on a case-by-case basis. Mature start-ups may apply for independent office space at VNEC K2IC at subsidized rentals, based on availability. VNEC K2IC will also actively support incubatees with a combination of inputs including:
A panel of eminent technocrats will process the applicants, interview the promoters and select the ventures for incubation after carefully evaluating the business idea, market availability, potential value of the technology, growth prospects, innovative content and promoter team. The panel will consist of experienced and qualified professionals from specific industry, leading bankers, seasoned venture capitalists and academicians of repute.
The VNECS Kalyana Karnataka Incubation center utilizes VNEC shared resources, management expertise, intellectual capital, and bottom-up learning over the past 10 years to enhance the capacity and vision of potential incubatees.
