Undergraduate Programme (UG – CSE)

About

The Computer Science and Engineering Department is one of the pioneering departments at VNEC. The department was established in 2010. The department is progressing dynamically in all academic and research areas. Currently, the department offers a 4-year undergraduate B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 120 students. The objective is to educate, train, and develop world-class research and IT professionals with a mastery of not only hardware and software skills but also soft skills for professional success. The department has six state-of-the-art laboratories with high-end servers, along with a department library. The well-equipped labs are kept open till 8:30 PM every day to enable the use of laboratory facilities for research activities. The department invites eminent personalities from renowned industries and research organizations for interaction with students and faculty.

The department aims to complement theory with a practical approach by providing assistance to the students for completing summer training projects, encouraging regular interaction with the industry through seminars, guest lectures, conferences, corporate meets, etc., and organizing intercultural exchange programs with other institutions and industries. The department conducts various coding contests on renowned platforms for the students on a regular basis. This practice increases the competitive spirit among the students and has given tremendous results in terms of placements. Students are performing exceptionally well in various technical, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities at both inter-college and intra-college events. Along with acclaimed academic performance at the AKTU level, students are motivated to form and run clubs and societies to further hone their skills, broaden their horizons, and instill leadership qualities and viability. Our students have multiple job options after completing the course. The policy of providing in-house mentoring to students prepares them for all sectors, be it IT, Government, Banking, Defence, PSUs, or entrepreneurship. Our students have qualified various competitive examinations such as GATE, CAT, and GRE.
